Two fully supported financed artist in residency programs a year.

—— FORMAT

FLAIR will award and host two fully supported financed artist in residency programs a year. Dual residencies (with one international and one African artist) will also be considered.

• January / February (summer)

• September / October (winter)

Each residency will be 6 - 8 weeks. There is an opportunity for the artist and curator to end the residency with a dedicated exhibition at the Gallery at Casa Labia but this is not mandatory.  The artist has access to the Labia Family Collection in permanent display at Casa Labia  for  inspiration for their own creative processes.

—— CURATOR

Each residency will be curated by a partner organization or collaborator who will work with FLAIR on a consultancy basis.

The curator will identify the broad ‘thematic’ of the residency, and alongside the Directors will assess the applications and award the residency program. The body of work created should in some respect engage with this ‘thematic’.

The curator can engage during the residency with the winning artist as much or as little as they and the artist like.

Terms of engagement are negotiable and ad hoc.

—— RESIDENCY PROGRAM

The Fondazione Labia will cover travel expenses, artist accommodation, and a stipend for artist materials and basic living expenses for the duration of the residency.

Accommodation for the artist(s) will be at Casa Labia or near by.

—- EXHIBITION

Following each residency, a 6 week exhibition will be held, with the involvement of the Curator, at the Gallery at Casa Labia
